2009
Eastern Hills Country Club has been the proud home of the Texas Women's Open since 2001. Over the past six years the event has grown, the quality of players has improved, and media coverage and community interests have increased. Below are a few highlights of the 2007 tournament.
2007 Winner, Shannon Fish, a member of of the University of Texas women's golf team, holed a three-foot putt on the 36th hole to win the title. Fish's putt gave her a two-day total of 5-over par 145 for the championship. (Fore Texas Magazine)
The 2007 Texas Women's Open benefited the New Beginning Center in Garland by raising $1,800 for the charity. The vision of the center is to promote social change that will lead to the elimination of domestic violence.
